The Tripa Hydropower Project is a 48 MW run-of-river hydroelectric operation on the Tripa River in Aceh Province, Indonesia. The project is located within the habitat of Critically Endangered (CR) Sumatran orangutan (Pongo abelii), Endangered (EN) Siamang (Symphalangus syndactylus), and EN Lar Gibbon (Hylobates lar). The project is being developed by PT Gayo Jaya Energi (GJE). The ARRC Task Force was contacted by the project in 2021 to align its activities with IFC PS6. The Task Force convened a panel to review and provide comments on their gibbon and orangutan surveys.
