Ngoulmendjim and Dibwangui

Hydroelectric dam

ASOKH Energy

The Ngoulmendjim Hydropower Project is a planned 83 MW hydroelectric dam on the Komo River in Gabon's Estuaire province, east of Libreville, and a 135 km interconnection powerline. Further south in the country, another 15 MW hydro power plant is planned in Dibwangui. These two separate projects are located in Endangered (EN) central chimpanzee (Pan troglodytes troglodytes) and Critically Endangered (CR) western lowland gorilla (Gorilla gorilla gorilla) habitat. These projects are being developed by a consortium made of Eranove, Gabonese Strategic Investment Fund (FGIS), and the Gabon Power Company. This consortium created a special purpose vehicle company, Asokh Energy, to manage, operate, and maintain the project. The ARRC Task Force was contacted by Asokh in 2021 to align its activities with IFC PS6.
